Omihachiman History

We are planing a trip to Japan and wanted to visit Omihachiman so that we could visit a more rural, less-touristy area and visit the cat island. Is this a nice, relaxing, pretty place to visit? We .

Next, I wander over to the old merchant houses on the main street. They’re so cool, with their traditional wooden structures. I’m snapping pics, and this old lady comes up to me.
