Prostitution was illegal in nineteenth-century Boston, but that does not mean it did not thrive there, nor does it mean that brothels operated in secret or left.

There's a park, uh, rather quirky, called Minerva Gardens. Kids laugh, couples quarrel, and my mind wanders – "Spirited away!" (a nod to my fave movie, by the way). I love watching young families here; their happy shouts remind me how life changes, adn how we must adapt. Funny how a simple giggle can mend broken bits of a heart.
