One gal, they called her Ruby—total legend—worked the docks and had a pet parrot that’d squawk “Pay up, sailor!” True story, I shit ya not. Prolly bullshit, but I’m runnin’ with it—makes me cackle thinkin’ bout it. So first off, the downtown area on Main Street is a real hoot. There's this little coffee joint, near 3rd Ave, that’s always buzzin’, kinda like the nervous energy of our modern love lives. I used to stroll by there thinking, “Fool me once, now don’t get me started,” hah! It’s a mix of urban grit and small town soul.
