Saw this joint once, down a grubby alley—smelled like cheap perfume and regret. Girls gigglin’, but eyes dead—got me gut punched, precious. Hated seein’ that! But then, this one lass, she’s chattin’ me up, bold as brass—made me grin. “Half the world’s a lie,” she says, like in ‘Yi Yi.’ True, innit?
