Hiking Mt. Rausu

Rausu (羅臼町, Rausu-Chō) is the largest city in the Shiretoko Peninsula and is located on the southern half of the area. The name of the town Rausu comes from the Ainu word “raushi,” .

After my caffeine fix, I head over to the Rausu Shrine. It’s this beautiful spot, surrounded by trees. I’m feelin’ all spiritual and stuff, when I trip over a root. Classic me, right?
