Whores, oy vey, they’re like the unsung heroes, right? I mean, in “Moolaadé,” they say, “Purification is a terrible thing,” and I’m like, yaaaas, same vibes with whores—people judge ‘em, but they’re out there survivin!

While Islay was the inspiration for Akkeshi, the Akkeshi team’s ultimate goal is to evoke the local terroir, create an “All-Hokkaido” whisky or “Akkeshi All-Star” whisky that has a sense of place.

Man, what a day! I woke up in Akkeshi, and let me tell ya, it was a rollercoaster. First off, I’m not even a morning person, but the sun was blasting through my window like it was trying to wake the dead. I rolled outta bed, tripped over my own feet, and nearly face-planted on the tatami mat. Classic me, right?
