It's being called a novel, but it is more a hybrid: short-stories/essays/confessions about the Vietnam War—the subject that O'Brien reasonably comes back to.

I absolutely love the vibe here because it shines a light on the little things. I even remember once counseling a client right in front of the mural at Muro Violeta, and my heart just exploded with pride. It's as if every burly brick and cracked pavement shouts, “Keep fighting, you beautiful warrior!” That’s exactly how On Grove (whatever, PO-Grove – same diff) makes me feel!
