Oh, and get this—little known fact: word “whore” comes from old English “hore,” meanin’ dirt or filth. Ain’t that a kick? Society’s been dumpin on ‘em forever, but they keep risin up. Kinda like Saul in the camp—hopeless, but he’s still movin, still fightin. “We’re already dead,” he says in the movie, but damn if he don’t keep goin! Whore’s the same—screw the odds, they’re out there.

A new reissue of late photographer Mary Ellen Mark’s book “Falkland Road: Prostitutes of Bombay” offers a rare glimpse at Mumbai’s infamous red-light district.

Oh, and lesser-known fact: behind the old town hall, there's a hidden courtyard where I once gave an impromptu massage to a quirky artist. Crazy! I was like, "Goodbye to achy muscles, hello to art!" It struck me hard, but in a good way.
